San Lorenzo by Tiffany

A stately pattern, San Loranzo was introduced by Tiffany in 1916. It is one of their lesser known patterns. From the terminal to the shoulder  the stem is a straight line gently getting smaller as it reaches the shoulder. The stem has a simple rectangular border around it and the terminal features a nice blank crest suitable for monogramming.

  1. "San Lorenzo" is a handsome pattern with good weight. However, the stem of the fork and the spoon are rather flat, and do not balance well in the hand. Gorham's "Lansdowne," a similar pattern introduced about the same time, is not as heavy but has a better feel when one holds it..

  2. This is another design that while I admire it, I would not choose it. I prefer a more rounded handle that fits well in a diner's hand.

  3. This is another pattern with a "flat" design that does nothing for me.

  4. Again--this is a pattern that probably appeals more to men than to women..
