English Shell By Lunt

Frederick Koonz designed English Shell for Lunt. It was introduced in 1937. Koonz who also designed Mary II (1929)  American Victorian (1941), Modern, Victorian (1931), Charles II (1934), American Directoire (1931), Canterbury Bell (1952), and  William and Mary (1921) for Lunt.

American Directoire By Lunt

Lunt introduced American Directoire in 1931. It was designed by Frederick W. Koonz who also designed American Victorian, Modern Victorian, Charles II, and  William and Mary for Lunt. This pattern is much more tailored than the other four patterns. The streamlined stem with flaired terminal and feathered detail on the shoulder of each piece has some touches of art deco.

William and Mary by Lunt

Lunt introduced their William and Mary pattern in 1921. It was designed by Frederick W. Koonz. He (Koonz) also designed the patterns: Modern Victorian (1931), American Victorian (1941), and Charles II for Lunt. I could find a reference to a William and Mary pattern by CJ Vander but no examples nor any other information. Lunt's William and Mary pattern is extremely simple with a very thin decorated edge around the entire stem from the shoulder to the terminal and back.

Modern Victorian by Lunt

Lunt introduced Modern Victorian in 1931. It was designed by Frederick W. Koonz.   Koonz also designed American Victorian and Charles II for Lunt. This pattern is along the lines of American Victorian but with a little more design to the terminal and shoulder of the pieces.

American Victorian by Lunt

Another pattern designed by Frederick W. Koonz. American Victorian was introduced in 1941. A very feminine petite design with a trio of blossoms at the base of the terminal, an open area on the terminal suitable for engraving, a pretty stem, and another blossom and other embellishments on the shoulder.

Charles II by Lunt

Not to be confused with the Charles II pattern by Dominick and Haff I posted on earlier, this Charles II pattern was introduced by Lunt in 1934. And, unlike the other pattern which was designed by Gilbert Crowell, Frederick W. Koonz designed Lunt's pattern. Koonz also designed American Victorian and Modern Victorian for Lunt.

The design of this pattern consists of fruits and flowers at the base of the terminal and the top of stem. The terminal has an open area suitable for engraving. The embellishment at the bottom of the stem and on the shoulder is elegant and substantial. This is truly a beautiful pattern.
