The definition of "Toddy" is "a drink made of alcoholic liquor with hot water, sugar, and sometimes spices." And here is the Toddy Ladle that can used to serve the libation. This is not an easy piece to find.

Another odd piece, the Butter Pick Knife, seems to be a combination between a butter pick with the tines on the side of the blade and a flat blade butter spreader. They tend to be longer than Butter Spreaders. However, their unique design makes them hard to miss.

Jelly Knife (Part 4)

I have posted earlier about the Jelly Knife but they come in two distinct sizes, varying in length from 1 to 1 1/2 inches in difference. Sometimes the difference in design is quite subtle, for example Strasbourg below. Then others, like in Lancaster, the larger knife resembles more the shape of the Jelly Server, although it is still called the Jelly Knife.

Ice Cream Fork Part 2

The original "Spork". I posted earlier on the Ice Cream Fork.  A bowl with tines on the end. This may be one of those pieces you found and asked yourself, "What the hey?" Another Victorian marvel.

Gorham  introduced Lancaster in 1897. It is a simple but elegant pattern with small roses on the end of the terminal and beading around the edges.

Crumb Knife (Crumber) Part 3

The red headed step child of the sterling flatware serving piece world, the Crumb Knife or Crumber.  Unlike his more elegant cousins who grace the buffet, he is forced to come out and  clean the linen table cloth between courses. But when all is said and done, this Cinderella utensil is often the most beautiful piece in the drawer. I posted earlier on this piece.
