Fish Serving Fork - Small

As I posted on earlier, the Fish Serving Fork come in two sizes - large and small and  the sizes of over lap in different patterns. I found examples of small Fish Serving Forks as large as  inches and as small as  inches. Here are a few examples of the "Small" size.

Fish Serving Set - Part 3

Once again I post on the elegant and usually expensive Fish Serving Set. As I mentioned in an earlier post, these pieces are large and lovely. Fish was a favorite food of the Victorians and these two pieces assisted the footman as he served each diner at his (or her) plate.

Cheese Fork

Another cheese serving utensil. The Cheese Fork can be found in most patterns. It usually has two tines.

Pap Spoons

The Pap Spoon was designed to feed soft food to infants and the invalids. They generally fall in size between a dessert spoon and a teaspoon, although usually longer that the fruit spoon.They are often listed as "Pap/Fruit Spoons", which gives me pause, since the fruit spoon in a pattern is generally referred to as a "Fruit/Orange Spoon"  (or "Orange Spoon" or separate "Grapefruit Spoon" in Tiffany patterns) and is an entirely different animal, sometimes having a gold wash to protect the silver from the citric acid of the fruit.

Ice Cream Fork Part 2

The original "Spork". I posted earlier on the Ice Cream Fork.  A bowl with tines on the end. This may be one of those pieces you found and asked yourself, "What the hey?" Another Victorian marvel.

Versailles by Wallace

Versailles by Wallace was introduced in 1914. This is a different pattern than the more well known Versailles pattern by Gorham. Whereas Gorham's pattern was designed by Anton Heller and depicts different scenes from the French palace, this design is much more simple. The terminal has a shield with a blank center that can be engraved. The stem is plain with simple thin lines down the sides. The end of the stem is decorated with a wreath.

Individual Terrapin Spoon

In looking into Terrapin pieces, I could only find one example of an Individual Terrapin Spoon, and it is by Gorham. But what a lovely piece with the bowl of the spoon decorated and shaped like the carapace of the animal. And, of course, Versailles is such an ornate pattern in itself. I feel certain, somewhere there are more out there.

Small Ice Cream Spoon (Part 3)

This is not my first post on Small Ice Cream Spoons. Usually they are between 1/4 and 1/2 inch smaller than the standard Ice Cream spoon and most patterns (especially the older patterns) will have both sizes. I haven't clue what the purpose for the two sizes was.
