Dorothy Bradford by Towle

 Towle's Dorothy Bradford pattern dates back to 1913. I'm not sure who this pattern was named for. There were several well known "Dorothy Bradford's".  There was Dorothy Elizabeth Bradford, the British Painter (1897-1986). And also there was Dorothy Bradford who came to America on the Mayflower and was the wife of William Bradford, who served as the governor of Plymouth Colony. Your pick!

Aristocrat by Towle

Aristocrat by Towle dates back to 1934. It was designed by Harold E. Nock. Other patterns designed for Towle by Nock include Old Master,  Old Lace (1939), D'Orleans (1932), Candlelight (1934), Royal Windsor (1935), Virginia Carvel (1919), Rambler Rose (1937), Chased Diana (1925), Lady Constance,  and Lady Mary.

 Towle produced their collection of "Flowers of Christmas" for several years. The last one was introduced in 1992. I also posted about these earlier.

Roast Holder

When antiquing with my friends, I am always searching for sterling pieces while they look for furniture etc. They have long since passed being intrigued by my finds. However, when I came upon one of these pieces, one of them commented, "That looks more like a torture device."

And, so perhaps this Joint /Roast Holder does. It is designed to hold a large roast or other piece of meat while it is being cut.

Bread Knife

The Bread Knife is one of the largest pieces in any pattern. The serrated blade makes it easy to identify from other large knives, such as Roast Caving knives. However, there are a few patterns with Bread Knives that do not have serrated blades, such as Towle's TWS 350.
