Colonial by Tiffany

Another pattern by Tiffany, Paulding Farnham designed Colonial for them in 1895. He is also known for his later patterns of  Marquise, Renaissance, and St. James  he also designed for Tiffany. As well as Richilieu, that he designed in 1892. The design of Colonial is fairly simple with a leaf motif at the end of the terminal and the terminal and stem being edged by a triple line which curls outward at the base of the stem.

Marquise / Marquise Engraved by Tiffany

Tiffany Introduced Marquise in 1902. It was another design of Paulding Farnham.  (Who also designed Renaissance , Richelieu, St. James, and Florentine for Tiffany.) This is a fairly simple design with the only decoration being the edging around the terminal and the stem. There is also another pattern which is an engraved variation called "Marquise Engraved".

Renaissance by Tiffany

Another pattern by Paulding Farnham, Tiffany introduced Renaissance in 1905.This was Farnham's most detailed and ornate pattern. In the terminal of each piece is an armless female figure in high relief mounted on a pedestal. The pedestal of each is decorated with cascading flowers or fruits and vegetables. 

In the entire pattern there are five different motifs. While in most of the pieces, flowers, fruits, and vegetables are used in the design. The design continues a intricate incorporation of flora and fauna in different pieces. For example, the fish eating knife and olive fork have sea shells, seaweed, and a fish  in the design. The Meat carving knife and fork have a boar's head in the design with the flowers.The dinner knife has ram's head in with the floral design. The Game carving knife and fork feature a deer's head with antlers in the design.

This was also Farnham's last flatware pattern. What a way to go out.

Richelieu by Tiffany

Tiffany introduced the pattern Richelieu in 1892. It is in the Rococo Revival style. The pattern was designed by Paulding Farnham, who also designed their St. James , Colonial, Florentine, Marquise, and Renaissance patterns. Farnham was a significant designer at the house of Tiffany. The "Era of Paulding Farnham" followed the "Era of Edward C. Moore".

Florentine by Tiffany

Earlier I mentioned all the different patterns named "Florentine". This is the one by Tiffany. Probably the most exquisite (in my opinion). Designed by Paulding Farnhaum is the Renaissance Revival style. According to Hood in his book, Tiffany Silver Flatware, the patent application was not filed until 1904 and the pattern became inactive sometime before 1934.

St James by Tiffany

A Renaissance Revival style designed by Paulding Farnham for Tiffany in 1898 that became inactive in 1912.  One of the first features one notices in St. James is the crossed multi-ribbed bands. This gives an open area for engraving. A line of beading goes down the handle.The design on the back is very simliar to the compex pattern of the front.  According to William Hood's book  Tiffany Silver Flatware "The significance of the name 'St. James' is unclear."
